Intuem Reaches Version 1.5 Delivering Outstanding New Features & Notation Abilities
For Release Tuesday September 17, 2002
Intuem version 1.5 brings our users new editing tools, recording improvements, system exclusive data enhancements, integration with Jaguar, a host of optimisations, several fixes, and the new, incredibly easy to use, Killer Feature.
New In Intuem 1.5: - Killer Feature: Intuem's chief new editing tool is note refitting. Sometimes you may find that you've played at a different tempo than Intuem was set for and discover that your music does not appear to be correctly notated. Now you can refit the notes into the bars and beats by stretching or shrinking them while Intuem automatically adjusts the tempo to ensure the music sounds the same. The best thing is it's so easy to use!
- Intuem has greatly improved music notation: ties and accidentals are better arranged; you now have the option to choose which staff a note appears on when notating in the grand staff; and most importantly, you can print with either mathematical or the more professional looking proportional spacing.
- To demonstrate the above new features, we've prepared a sample composition and PDF to show just what you'll get in real-world use with very dynamic, flowing music.

- Cursor arrow keys can now be used to move notes and controller data, and Option-dragging controller data blocks moves them by increments of exactly 1 up/down, or 0.1 bpm in the case of tempo.
- New selection options in 1.5 let you select all SysEx, all program changes, or all text with one click. You can also extend selections to include all notes of the same pitch, and can now select all controller data of a particular type, and even a specific value. Also, all traces of a specific controller may be deleted from a track.
- System exclusive data may now be imported from ".syx" SysEx files directly into a track or they may be opened as an Intuem composition.
- Intuem can now record multiple devices to the same track. This is handy when you have a track using MIDI sound module with controller dials that send MIDI controller messages you want to record while recording the notes for it with a separate keyboard.
- You can now quantise notes as you record them.
- Setting-up your MIDI hardware is now much easier and you can also use Jaguar's "Audio MIDI Setup" app to define the basic connections for Intuem.
- You can now play Intuem in the background while the composition is iconified to the dock and even while Intuem is completely hidden.
- With QuickTime Musical Instruments and DLs/SoundFont2 based midi devices you can choose the reverb type and reverb amount.
- Problematic SoundFont2 and DLS files no longer cause Intuem to crash on startup.
- Help has been expanded to provide comprehensive descriptions of all the new features and options. Help has also been expanded to provide a check-list for setting-up MIDI hardware.
- Shifting, Deleting and Inserting time are now much faster.
- "Wait for Note" will now only be triggered by notes and not controller data or active sensing & etc.
- Type MIDI files from some sequencers will no longer hang Intuem with "Couldn't create a takes' MIDI Output Port. MIDI will be unusable".
- A bug preventing the use of multiple Takes in many situations has been fixed. Another bug involving channel pressure has been fixed. If you have trouble editing files with the "Channel Pressure" controller, open them in 1.5, save and close them, then re-open and the problem will be fixed.
- Improvements to stability.
