Improved MIDI reliability for Intuem with Mac OS X 10.1.5
For Release Thursday June 6, 2002
Apple has released Mac OS X version 10.1.5 Tuesday and with it comes improved MIDI reliability that Intuem users need. If you've had problems with Intuem leading to hanging notes and cessation of any further sound from the application until re-launch you should upgrade to Mac OS 10.1.5 which fixes this issue.
You do not need to upgrade to Intuem Release 3 to get these benefits, but Release 3 does have some great new features and stability improvements.
New In Release 3
This release adds ease-of-use features that help make Intuem an effortless music production environment. It improves stability and we've also lowered the price, making it more accessible.
- Intuem now has Play-Through capability so you can play on your keyboards without having to record. Play-Through has three modes, play through back to the originating keyboard, to a record enabled track normally controlled by the same keyboard and play through to the default device. This gives the option of using Intuem as a QuickTime Musical Instruments/DLS/SoundFont synth.
- Intuem is now much more tightly integrated with your MIDI Keyboards and modules when it comes to program changes. To coincide with play-through, program changes are undo/redoable but now update your gear while recording or not so you can audition new sounds in your arrangement and undo as needed. You can also change programs via the inspector while using play-through to a record-enabled track. Now no matter what you do, your music will always sound the same as Intuem presents it on screen.
- Improved performance when using the Inspector.
- Try Out version no longer requires an unlocking key or for you to give out any private information. The 30 minute time-out is also removed.
- Improved stability.
- Type 0 MIDI files from some sequencers will no longer hang Intuem.
- Better program mapping to QuickTime Musical Instruments and non-General MIDI capable devices.
- Recorded notes are displayed at their proper times in Notation view instead of all bunched up at bar 1, beat 1.
- Some MIDI Files with dozens to hundreds of markers no longer load slowly.
